Stucco Recoat 80/20 Textured Coating - Fine

Stucco Recoat 80/20 Textured Coating is an elastomeric, textured acrylic finish manufactured by Sealants & Coatings Technologies (SCT) in Charlestown, Indiana. It renews faded, chalking and hairline-cracked stucco and EIFS without tearing anything off and starting over. Once cured it forms a flexible, seamless, waterproof skin that moves with the wall instead of cracking with it.

This listing is the fine texture, for a smoother finish. A coarse texture is also available.

Where it goes

Above grade only:

• Existing stucco and EIFS
• Brick, concrete block and poured concrete
• Concrete wall panels and synthetic substrates
• Retaining walls, provided the back side is sealed

SCT Sealing Primer goes on first

The manufacturer is explicit about this: all cementitious surfaces must be coated with SCT Sealing Primer before the 80/20 is applied. It is a two-product system, not a standalone coating. On brick or concrete block, struck mortar joints also need to be floated out with thin-set mortar first, or they will telegraph through the finished texture.

How to apply

• Stir thoroughly before use.
• Roll with a 3/4 in. to 1-1/2 in. nap, or spray and back-roll. Spraying and back-rolling gives the best result and prevents pin holes.
• A handheld drywall hopper or a commercial texture sprayer both work.
• Trowel or brush shortly after application for additional patterns. Different nap sizes produce different textures.
• Do not apply if freezing temperatures are expected within 72 hours. Rain can damage uncured material.

Ten standard colors: Arctic White, Sandstone, Hawaiian Sand, Desert Sunrise, Palomino Beige, Sandalwood, Sierra Tan, Smoke Gray, Southern Gray and Mountain Gray. Arctic White can be tinted with universal colorants for custom colors.

Good to know

• Vapor permeable, with fungicides and mildewcides added.
• Provides an excellent paintable surface for elastomeric acrylic latex paints.
• Salt spray stable.
• Clean with a light hose-down. High-PSI pressure washing can damage the finish.
• Not for below-grade applications.
• Protect from freezing in storage. Store below 90°F, out of direct sunlight.
• Clean up with soap and water immediately. Dried material may require solvent.
